Polygence Mentor, Showcasing Specialist, and Writing Editor

I guide high school students through the completion of full-scale independent research projects from ideation to publication and showcasing in topics of Psychology and Neuroscience. In addition I support students in the process of editing and refining their research work.

Mentor, Showcasing Specialist, and Writing Editor

In the Brain and Music Lab I manage and mentor a team of undergraduate and graduate research assistants. I lead lab activities and mentor students, in statistics, coding, experimental methods, and independent honors theses. 

I also serve as a mentor for students applying to Psychology PhD programs through USC's CAPTURE Increase Diversity Committee and through the University of Minnesota's Next Gen Scholar Program. Both programs are at navigating the psychology PhD application process and assisting with editing personal statements.

Graduate Student Government Executive Board

Director of Student Belonging — Programming (2024-2025)

In my role, I collaborated with other executive board members on developing events that promote student belonging and access to campus resources. In addition, I aimed to increase access and exposure for graduate students to communities around USC and LA. I provided increased resources through town halls and encouraged students to engage in service to their community.

Director of Campus Affairs (2023-2024)

In my role, I created and increased access to services and resources to students in need of assistance, including taking advantage of funding opportunities such as emergency and caretaking funds, access to food pantry and other basic necessities, and increasing support and advocacy for students struggling with their academic programs or health challenges during school. In addition, I focused on improving support and access to information for students with caretaking roles, such as student parents or students with dependents. I hosted a committee that worked to provide resources financial support to students in need and served on committees for health and wellbeing . Additionally, I hosted events specifically tailored to students with caretaking roles to incorporate their families into the USC community.

Graduate Association for Students of Psychology

Dornsife Graduate Student Association Representative (Fall 2023)

Represent GASP and Psychology Graduate students at the Dornsife College level and the GSG level. Advocate for student needs, ensure access and knowledge of various resources for students on campus, and act as liason for students on the level of the college and university. 

Co-President (2022-2023)

Co-run the Graduate Association for Students of Psychology (GASP). Duties Include advertising, planning, and coordinating all on and off campus social events, submitting budget applications and funding requests, organizing, and running the departmental annual Town hall, assisting with new student orientation, acting as a liaison between department administration, faculty, and grad students, attending bimonthly e-board meetings, attending meetings with the director of the graduate school, and updating and disseminating student resources.

Psychology Graduate Mentorship Program: Coordinator and Peer Mentor (2020-2022)

Coordinate and run peer mentorship program for first year PhD students to help with transition into graduate school, plan and run social events for first year students and their mentors and assist with new student recruitment programs. 

Act as peer mentor to incoming students, provide information on resources, coursework, program requirements and social connections to assist in adjustment to graduate student life.

Student-Faculty Committees

Milestone, Resource, and Advisor Relations (2020-2021): improve clarity and communication of student program requirements and increase transparency and access to course schedules. Increase awareness of resources for students struggling with advisor communication and improve avenues of mediation for difficult student-advisor relationships.

Advisor-Advisee Relations (2021-2022): Improve communication between advisors and advisees, improve resources for resolving conflict, incentivize mentorship for faculty.

Well-being and Mental Health (2021-2022): Foster open communication about well-being, improve knowledge and access to existing wellness resources, assess largest sources of stress and poor well-being among students, determine possible solutions to student issues.
